Previously, I sent Excel sheets around with the rota, and then it was quite a puzzle to put together the rota.
After a bit of searching, I found Smartplan, and it wasn't long before the system was integrated in the house and is used frequently.
I use it daily. I check if there are shifts that need to be filled, I write to all volunteers through the system, I use Smartplan as a phone book for email addresses and phone numbers. I try to get the volunteers to use the system more and more, so we don't have to have lists with contact information lying around.
I used Smartplan's support a lot in the beginning, because there are always requests when you start up a new system. Many of my requests I can see are coming gradually. It's a sign that they listen when you have requests, and otherwise you get an explanation of why it can't be done.
Smartplan is here to stay in our house!
