New update: Option to disable shift swaps
We’re excited to introduce a new, small feature in Smartplan that many of our customers have requested. This update allows administrators to disable employees’ access to initiate shift swaps. Although it’s a small adjustment, it can make a big difference in your daily operations.
Take full control of shift swapping in your business
With this new feature, you can have better control over how shift swaps are managed in your business. In the past, you may have received an overwhelming number of notifications in Smartplan whenever your employees wanted to swap shifts with each other. By disabling shift swaps entirely on your account, you can avoid this. Only you, as an administrator or superuser, will be able to initiate a shift swap.
The feature is turned off by default, so your employees won’t notice any changes unless you enable it. This ensures you have full control over whether to use the feature or not.
How does it work?
You can find the setting under “Settings → Smartplan Settings → Shift swap.” It’s marked with a small “New” tag, making it easy to locate.
If you check the box to prevent your employees from swapping shifts, the following will apply:
- Administrators and superusers with the rights to manage shift swapping will still be able to initiate swaps.
- Existing requests made before the feature was activated will not disappear. Employees can still accept or decline these.
- Requests created by an administrator or superuser can still be accepted or declined by employees, even after the feature is activated.
