A typical schedule for Ditur

At Ditur, the schedules for each location are set up differently depending on which time slots employees need to work. Different administrators are responsible for their own schedules. A typical week in the schedule for their warehouse looks like this:

No more extra administrative work

Previously, Ditur created schedules in an Excel spreadsheet, which was then shared with employees in a Facebook group. The challenge was that changes were often made to the schedules or employees' hours. With Smartplan, they avoid the unnecessary administrative work.

Capacity management

In the schedule, administrators add the number of shifts needed on individual days. This way they're sure the schedule stays within the payroll budget. Then employees sign up for shifts themselves.

Clock in and out

With the time clock, employees can easily track their hours without an administrator needing to be involved. With a few clicks on a tablet at the workplace, employees clock in and out.

Payroll

With their payroll system, Ditur can quickly and easily run payroll from Smartplan. Each month they create a time report and run payroll for the period. Then Smartplan generates a payroll file that they can import directly into their payroll system.

"It's easy for us to publish a schedule and say these are the shifts we need, and then employees can sign up themselves. They also have some freedom where they can add a comment saying they might not arrive until 10 o'clock, and that works fine for us"

Scandinavia's largest watch store

In the winter of 2014, ditur.dk was founded by brothers Mikkel and Kasper Dissing, and since then the company has only grown. We recently stopped by their headquarters in Hasselager, where we met with the company's COO, Daniel. Here we had a chat about what daily life looks like at Ditur, and how they use Smartplan.

Daniel has been part of Ditur's journey almost from the beginning and was the first full-time employee in the company. Therefore, he has also experienced how the company went from having just a few employees to now having 80-90 employees.

Ditur is today Scandinavia's largest watch store, and they have both a large webshop and a physical store in the center of Aarhus. In the beginning, the company only focused on selling watches, but gradually they've expanded their assortment, which today also includes accessories and jewelry.

At Ditur, the focus is very much on the service they provide to customers. Here they use Facebook groups, among other things, to share daily deals and engage in dialogue with customers. This is because Ditur doesn't want to appear as a large, distant company. Instead, they value the close contact they can have with their customers.

This is also reflected in the company's results. Last year alone, they sent nearly 200,000 orders to customers, and according to Daniel, they often experience that the same customers return at a later time to make new purchases.

"We're kind of a supermarket, if you can say that, although we of course also have our own brands. So we really care about good service. We should always be able to give customers a possibility or solution and help them in some format"

After our visit, we definitely also have the impression that the good service permeates the entire company. Everywhere we were met with smiles and friendly greetings. We ended the tour with a short walk to see the new, even larger headquarters that Ditur is having built. At Smartplan, we look forward to helping them manage scheduling for even more employees.
